Introduction to Traditional Thai Massage
DATE: March 14, 2010
LOCATION: Denver, CO, USA
INSTRUCTOR: Hillary Olsen Hilliard, LMT, RTT, RYT
DESCRIPTION: Introduction to Traditional Thai Massage is a wonderful initiation and first encounter with the amazing, healing art of Thai Massage. This introductory workshop was created for those that wish to first experience aspects of Thai Massage before they decide to take the full 50-hour training program. This workshop is different from the Thai for the Table workshop, in that we work in a traditional style, on a Thai mat on the floor. The therapists' ergonomics are very different as the participant transitions from TFT to Traditional Thai Massage on a mat. Even though no prerequisites are required for our Level 1 course, we recommend those that are new to this modality, new to bodywork, and/or would like a 2-day introduction to the flow, body mechanics, and the rhythm, stay open to taking this 2-day introduction. We find that our students that have taken this introductory workshop, fair better and learn faster in Levels 1, 2, and 3. The participant will learn a specific Supine and Prone sequence and will be able to give a 60 - 90 min Thai Massage after the 2-day workshop.

Advanced: Sen Line Therapy + Asian Anatomy
DATE: March 29 to April 02, 2010
LOCATION: Sunshine Massage School, Chiang Mai, Thailand
INSTRUCTOR:
DESCRIPTION: In most cases, the best Thai massage is given with nothing else but intuition and a compassionate understanding of the human condition. Some chronic health issues and difficult cases require a deeper understanding and special knowledge of the energy lines. Learning this theory can sometimes be boring and hard to retain. This course has been designed to allow you to feel the different Sen Lines in your own body and in those you touch. This final piece of years of research by Asokananda delivers accurate maps of the energy lines of the body and explanations of the different qualities of the energy lines. From this, we can use the energy lines for both diagnosis and treatment. When we understand the qualities and properties of the individual Sen Lines, we are able to work very specifically to assist in activating disease manifestation. You will learn where the energy lines run, how to massage clients with chronic disease, different methods of thumbing, therapy points, the chakra system, and the Thai view of anatomy.
