For the first two weeks, you will study Thai massage with either Master Pichest Boonthumme (experienced students) or Master Homprang Chaleekanha (beginning or advanced students). The second half of the trip will be a 2-week exploration of Northern Thailand, Thai culture, and the roots of Thai healing.

Because the organizers and leaders (Michelle Tupko, Paul Fowler and Paul Weitz) have spent so much time in Thailand, this trip will take you off the beaten tourist track and put you in touch with people and places rarely seen by farang (the Thai word for foreigners).

Students will have the benefit of engagement with their Thai teachers as well as with the Pauls and Michelle, creating an environment of complex conversation that begins in the USA, deepens in Thailand, and can then again continue back at home. Our hope is to create a rich continuity of questioning, experimenting and learning across the ocean.

No previous bodywork experience is necessary in order to participate.
